Mark Twain's books are very controversial because it deals with his life and other people have different have views and don't see eye to eye with him.

Also when Mark was young he served in the American Civil War. At one time, he worked as a steam boat pilot. He also worked as a gold checking person and as a journalist. He was well appreciated as a lecturer and his method of story telling was praised by many. His stage presence was also appreciated widely. I think its amazing how much other stuff Mark Twain did and still had time to be one of the most popular authors ever.
